Getting to grips with Schmalz at Tectra Automation open day
Tectra Automation recently hosted a Schmalz Vacuum Technology open day at its premises in Johannesburg to demonstrate the effectiveness of these handling systems in various industry sectors, from automotive and logistics to plastic moulding and food and beverage.
57 delegates, consisting of old and potential clients from Gauteng, experienced first-hand how our vacuum handling systems are able to increase production efficiencies with five live demonstrations of Schmalz Jumbo Lifters, Suction Cups, Vacuum Ejectors and Crane Systems.
“Our clients often have trouble lifting irregularly shaped and sized items,” says Malan Bosman, Pneumatic Product Manager, Tectra Automation. “So we demonstrated how our specialised vacuum lifters and cups can securely and efficiently handle any item, from plastic bags, food items and cylindrical products to extremely large and porous wood sheets.”
In addition to these live demonstrations, the pneumatic specialists proved how Schmalz products enable smarter, more efficient and productive operations over standard manual handling systems. This is especially important when lifting heavy items that can cause potential worker injury and worker fatigue that lower overall production rates.
Clients also put the Schmalz team to the test by posing their own lifting challenges and discovering how Schmalz Vacuum Technology can overcome them with ease.
Tectra Automation hosts two open days a year, and the first event of 2017 will showcase the company’s entire suite of pneumatic, vacuum, electric drive and control, process valves and actuators, linear motion and assembly system technology.
