Pneumatic equipment categories

Pneumatic control equipment, pneumatic tools and equipment and pneumatic automation equipment all form part of Tectra Automation’s comprehensive range of equipment for pneumatics. To make things easier for customers seeking Tetra Automation’s pneumatic solutions, the solution type has been grouped into specific pneumatic categories.

For example, fitting accessories, push-in fittings, plastic tubing, pneumatic couplings, compressed air guns and rotary joints are part of Tectra Automation’s pneumatic connection technology range. For air preparation equipment, the range incorporates maintenance units and components, pressure gauges and the reservoir gauges while valve terminal systems include both valve systems and standardised valve systems.

The company’s directional pneumatic valves include ranges of pneumatically, manually and electrically operated valves and the flow and check valve range incorporates a range of 5 consisting of quick exhaust valves, check choke valves, logic valves, non-return valves and throttle valves.

Last but certainly not least is the pneumatic cylinders range which hosts rotary actuators, rodless cylinders and piston rod cylinders in this category.

Pneumatics enhances safety in packaging applications

The widespread use of pneumatics technology for packaging machines, used to drive motion and actuate machine sequences, has garnered more interest by machine designers and end users as to how pneumatics can improve safety and safe operating functionality in their equipment. This, according to a paper by Erl Campbell, Food and Beverage Key Account Manager, Aventics. He says that the increased interest is, in part, due to the globalisation of the packaging machine marketplace.  “Many major packaging OEMs are focused on building machines that can be sold into multiple markets and regions with minimal modifications.” He adds that, to do so, the machines need to satisfy safety regulations and that machine builders and end users are also discovering that use of pneumatics that integrates safety technology can enhance their systems’ reliability and extend their operational life.
